GENEVIEVE IS ONE MONTH OLD!

Today I am one month old, and mommy and daddy both think that I am a very special little girl.  My mommy does wish though that I might like to sleep at night a little bit more, but I know that will happen before long. I am as cute as can be, and getting cuter more every day! I am a very good little girl and am spending more and more time looking around and like people to talk to me. Grandma gave me a new aquarium for my crib on my first overnight with her, and I REALLY like looking at it and the music that it plays. Mommy and Daddy love me very much and love holding me. Well, I have to say that I like being held quite a lot too! I have gone on several little outings including Starbucks ( grandma thinks that is very important ), and also  to the grocery and to Barnes and Noble ( another place grandma thinks I should get acquainted with.  My biggest outing though  was going to Aunt Heather and Uncle Steve's house for my very first thanksgiving. I spent plenty of time getting acquainted with all of t he people there, and they passed me around like I was a rock star.  Welllllll...... I was very good when I went out!  Everyone is looking forward to when I start smiling, and that will be pretty soon.  I already smile sometimes, but mostly by accident. I will learn that very soon though... . so keep posted for photos!  I am a very loved little girl.

MEETING YOUR AUNT HEATHER AND UNCLE STEVE AND COUSIN SAM

On Sunday, November 16th, when you were just 5 days old, Aunt Heather, Uncle Steve and your cousin Sam hurried over to Arlington for their first chance to hold and cuddle you.  They brought you some really cute presents, some new outfits, Some very special Hiney paste, to keep you from getting diaper rash, and also some very nice baby soap. The were excited to see you and snuggle with you, and they were already asking your mommy how soon you could come to visit them at their house. I know they are already looking forward to you coming to see them, but I think it will be awhile before your mommy and daddy let you go anywhere!  They also brought your mommy and daddy a really nice dinner because they know that your mommy is a little bit tired after you were  born. Having a new baby is quite alot of work, but lots of fun. You are going to have alot of fun with your aunt  Heather, and uncle Steve, and with Sam too. He is your cousin, and will really enjoy playing with you when you get just a little bit older.

GROWING MORE EVERY DAY

Dear little Gen! This is a note form your mommy not too long before your were born. Grandma is a little bit slow getting this in to your first year blog, but here it is NOW.  I know that your mommy is very happy to have you now in her arms instead of her tummy!
These photos of your mommy were taken in October, just a few weeks before you were born. It was a beautiful fall day outside and we wanted to be sure to get some photos of you before you were born. Your mommy has been going to the DR every single week as they are making sure that you are growing just like they want you to do, and that everything is going well. You sure do alot of kicking, and also have the hiccups all of the time. That is such a funny thing to feel when you are going to have a new baby.
My Sweet Girl, Sitting here and waiting the last weeks for you, there are no words to tell you adequately what a gift your are to us! A gift we never truly believed we would have given to us!There were  a couple of scares early on, but you must truly be meant to be here. from the moment we could we listened every day to  your little heart beating strongly reassuring us that you were on the  way, and real, then feeling your movements inside of me, for all the discomfort it sometimes caused, gave gives me such a sense of peace, knowing you are strong and healthy and ready to come and meet us. I cannot tell you how much i look forward to looking in to your eyes, seeing you smile, and being able to rock and comfort you when you cry. I am sure I will not always be the most perfect mother, or the most patient person I would like to be, but I do promise to strive every day to make sure you know how very loved and treasured you are, and will never lose site of how very lucky we are to have you and to be a family.    All my love, Your mommy

A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY

Dear little Genevieve Grace! This is your grandma, and I wanted to tell you a little bit about your WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY. You were born on November 11th, 2014 at 1:58  in the afternoon, and your mommy and daddy were both there, and grandma got to be there too. I was very excited about getting to watch your birth, and thought it was a very magical moment!  Your mommy went to the hospital at Arlington Memorial Hospital on November 10th very late in the evening to get ready to have you the very next day. Her labor started early in the morning, and your daddy called me and said that you were going to be born in a little while, so grandma came to the hospital about 8 am.  Your mommy and daddy were excited that they were finally going to get to meet you. This is the room that you were born in, and there is the baby bed which was waiting for you and all warmed up and ready.
The nurses were very good and watched all of the time to make sure that you and your mommy were doing just fine! Grandma was watching too!

After awhile, your mommy was progressing very well, and when your daddy went down to have a little quick lunch, the nurse came and said that your mommy was doing well, and that they would bring in the "stuff" that the dr would need for when you would be born, and that it would not be too long now! We are hoping that you will hurry up and arrive.
Finally it was almost time, and your mommy was working very hard to help you be born. Your daddy was very excited when we began to see that it would not be too long now!  Lots of work having a baby, but also very exciting!

Finally, at 1:58 in the afternoon, Dr Perril helped you  be born, and here you are, not even a minute old. You looked so beautiful, and all of us felt like crying because we were so happy that you were finally here, and that you looked just PERFECT

You were crying too, and that is just what a new baby always does.  You looked SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
This is the very first time that your mommy got to 'MEET YOU" and she had tears in her eyes from JOY, and so did your DADDY! Grandma was taking your photo, but there were tears in my eyes too. What a very special moment this was!

Pretty soon, the nurse took you over to check you out and see how much you weighed. My goodness! You weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces, and you were 19 inches tall.  just a perfect size.

Daddy came over, and wanted to hold your hand. You already like holding hands with your DADDY, and you will be holding his hand for many years to come. Daddy already has a look of great love in his eyes.
After a little while, you went to the nursery to get a little bath and get warmed up in a very special bed.

Grandma was outside of the nursery watching, and thought you looked JUST BEAUTIFUL. What a very special day this has been, and a day that none of us will ever forget.  Your big sister Monica came right away to see you with your little neices, Paytin and Ariel, Grandpa was there and loved seeing you, and Aunt Heather also came and brought you a new present. we are all so excited that you have finally arrived and we know that you are going to be a very loved little girl!

MY FIRST BATH

Here I  am, already 11 days old!  I was busy talking to grandma and enjoying my new swing, WHEN, all of a sudden, my mommy gets out some thing that i have never seen before.

Suddenly I find myself over on the counter and getting my clothes off. What is going on??
Wow! Is mommy sending me back where i just came from. No, we are singing songs and enjoying some water time.

I am pretty laid back here and enjoying this new experience.
Even have a little  shower head to rinse me off, and loving the smell of the Burts Bees baby wash that my mommy got for me.  Think I am going to enjoy this!
First thing you know, my first bath is over, and mommy and I are getting ready to get dressed and have dinner!I think I am going to have fun doing this new bath thing! Lots of fun, and I like my new Baby Bath Spa!

SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR YOU

Dear little Genevieve!  I wanted to show you a quilt that grandma is making especially for you! A very special person made these beautiful butterflies and then she gave them to me. When I saw them, I knew that I wanted to make something special just for you.  Butterflies are very special to both your mommy and your grandma because they remind us how as we grow, we can become so beautiful.  This is going to be a special symbol for you because we know that you are going to grow up to be a beautiful little girl.  Here is grandma in September 2014 up at our cabin in the big woods working on your quilt. Still about 5 weeks until we expect you to be born, and can hardly wait!

A SPECIAL ROOM FOR YOU

Not too long before you were born, your mommy and daddy moved to a new house.  Grandma is very excited about that because you will be living right next door to me, and I think that is going to be lots and lots of fun.  Almost the very first thing that your mommy and daddy did when they moved was to get your room all ready for you when you are born and get to come home from the hospital.   Your room looks so pretty and I know it is going to be a very cozy space for you and you are going to have lots of fun here!  Just anxious for you to arrive as all of us can hardly wait to meet you!

YOUR FIRST OUTING

This is a picture of your mommy with your niece  miss Paytin. She came to visit your mommy and was very interested to talk to you while you were growing in side of your mommy.  As you can see, you are growing very nicely, and even your mommy's  dr says that everything is just perfect and you are growing almost big enough to be born. You and Paytin are going to have lots and lots of fun together.

VERY EXCITING NEWS!!!!

DEAR LITTLE GENEVIEVE GRACE! This is your grandma and I am wanting to make a little record of your life from the very start.  These photos were taken in April at the very moment that your mommy found out that you were growing .  It was a very exciting  moment, and grandma was there and took this photo. Your mommy was so happy and right away called your daddy and let him know the exciting news.  If you look very carefully at the screen up on the wall, you will be able to see you! Even though you  were very tiny. So grandma is going to make a record of the progress as you are growing, and can hardly wait to meet you!
Your mommy and daddy knew right away that if you were a little girl, your name would be Genevieve Grace.  They chose this very special name because they wanted you to have the name of your great grandma , who was also named Genevieve. Your great grandma, Genevieve, was born a long time ago, on July 10th, 1903, and that is a very long time ago. She was your mommies very favorite grandma and a very special person.  You  won't get to meet her, but I know she will be looking down from heaven and is watching you as you grow.  Grace was chosen because it took alot of grace to get you here, and it was something that was almost a miracle.    We are still waiting to actually meet you, and it won't be too long now!
