I DID IT! APRIL 30, 2015

So Today is the day that I really managed to sit up all by myself, balancing for several minutes at a time. Mommy was so proud of me that she took a special blanket and we sat outside under the tree for a long time. It was a beautiful spring day and we sat outside in our very own back yard enjoying my new skill. So here I am, only 5 1/2 months old and able to sit up all by myself, at least for a little bit.  Mommy took a photo of me sitting up and sent it to grammy who was at work. Everyone is so amazed and proud of me, and the first thing you know I will be crawling all around.

WORKING HARD AT A NEW SKILL

Here I am at 5 1/2 months and working very hard at learning to sit up. Had a little help here from mommy, but this pillow sure did help. When I am laying down, I make all kinds of faces as I try to sit up. Can't do it yet, but definitely making a big effort.  Everyone also loves this big smile I have! Such a charmer!!!

A MILESTONE AT GRAMMY'S HOUSE

WELL grammy is very excited that when you came over for a little while today you turned over for the first time ever.... from your tummy to your back!  I had you down on the floor for some "tummy time" and sat lots of toys all around you just out of your reach. You kept scooting around on the blanket to see each toy better, and grammy was teasing you saying turn over turn over. Grammy will give you a dollar if you do it! All of a sudden..... over you went. You had a surprised look on your face to find your self in a changed position. Sorry I missed making a movie of you turning, but I did get a shot of your expression. 5:20 pm exactly when you first did this! Bet you will be doing it a lot in a few days.
HOW  DID I GET HERE???

I AM FIVE MONTHS OLD

It is hard to believe that I am already 5 months old. Every single day I am more and more charming. I love smiling, and especially pass out my smiles when someone sings to me. I love the CUPPYCAKE SONG a lot and my mommy sings it to me every day. As soon as I hear it, I smile.  I am also laughing a little bit, but I make whoever wants to hear it really work a lot for it.
My mommy is still breast feeding me, and I am so relaxed when we are having meal time. She has really worked hard at getting me off to a good start and keeping me healthy. I will take a bottle from daddy or from grammy, but when my mommy is there.... no bottles for me
I am very good riding in the car, and when we go somewhere, I am really busy looking around at every thing. There are so many new things to see.  I like to talk and still do a lot of raspberries. and other sounds which are unique to baby talk
We are going out on quite a few excursions , especially since it is spring time now, and I like riding around in my stroller, and also looking all around me. I am really liking to stand up, and sometimes no one can get me to bend and sit. Practicing getting my legs strong so one of these days I will be able to stand up and walk. I also spend a whole lot of time just kicking my legs. Getting stronger every day.
Mommy and grammy took me out to the park to see the bluebonnets. Grammy got me this cute little dress and hat. Don't i look gorgeous in this. the bluebonnets are pretty, but grammy hardly noticed them.

I have lots and lots of new toys and I really like seeing them and am getting very good at grabbing them, and getting them right to my mouth. I am drooling a lot, and one of these days, I'll bet I will get my first tooth, but not yet. Everybody is watching. Mommy got me this new toy which is like a piano. When you kick it , lights come on and also so fun songs. It did not take me very long at all until I figured out how to do this, and grammy and I played with it for a long time. I am going to love this toy. I have not turned over yet, but know that one day soon, I will as I am trying very hard to get over from my back to my stomach. Watching out for that. I know that I am a very loved little girl, and mommy and daddy are having so much fun with me.

MY FIRST ZOO DAY, APRIL 11, 2015

Today was my very first visit to the zoo. I went with my mommy and it was her idea to go here. She also invited my big sister, and my two little nieces, Paytin and Ariel.  Grandma got to go along too, and we had some fun  there.  I got my first chance to see the gorillas and lots of other animals. When I get a little bit bigger, mommy and grammy are also going t o take me to feed the little parakeets. We are going to do this pretty soon . I think that will be fun.  Mommy loved letting me see some new  things and I smiled all day long.
Miss Ariel also enjoyed seeing new things and was a very good girl too.
I was so cute today, but am also "full of beans"... the beans of being two years old, grammy thinks.  I am a very good girl though with these little babies in my life and am very gentle with them. GG took this photo of Miss Paytin with t he elephant at the zoo as this is a family tradition. When I get a little bit bigger, Grammy is going to take me to the zoo again and we will get a photo of me, a little bit bigger , with this elephant.

THE END OF A BUSY DAY

All too soon it was time t o go home, but first, my mommy took me in to the gift shop, and i got to get a brand new hat which looks SOOOOOO CUTE on me. Mommy and Grammy both think I am the cutest girl ever. I am just exactly 5 months old today, April 11th, and am a really SWEETIE PIE

HAPPY FIRST EASTER

WELL  today, April 5th, is my first EASTER . The Easter bunny has left me some great little presents even though I am still too little to hunt for Easter eggs, but next year, I will be starting to get the hang of that, and who knows, maybe , with a little bit of help, I will even be able to find the GOLDEN EGG. Grammy has gotten me a special easter basket that she is going to decorate for me for next year.  My Daddy took me out to Aunt Heather and Uncle Steves house for Easter dinner as mommy had to work today, but we still had  so much fun.  It is very easy for everyone to see how very much my Daddy loves me, and of course we really look alike. Everyone notices that! How much fun it is to look like my Daddy! I had lots of fun at Aunty Heathers and everyone thought that I looked so cute and wanted to hold me and give me kisses and hugs. A girl needs a clone almost......
Still i got  to spend some fun time with my Daddy and we had so much fun together!
We look so much alike that Grammy says my name should have been CHARLIEN. Well instead I am Genevieve Grace. I am thinking though that I am going to have a lot of knick names... VIVI , GIGI, GEN, and who knows, maybe grammy may even call me SUZY. Mostly though, call me cute!
Daddy and me having a little play time!

SOME EASTER FUN WITH MY FAMILY

So just before Easter , when the Easter Bunny comes, Grammy and Mommy decided that we should go up to Waco and celebrate Easter with my big sis, and my two nieces. Grammy bought all of "us girls" really cute new Easter dresses so we would look especially cute, and off we went. We had a fun lunch out at Shmalts's, which is mommy and my big sis's favorite restaurant, and then we headed off to Cameron park for some fun time under t he big tree
Grammy brought some big blankets so we could have some time to get acquainted, and here I am with Miss Ariel Mariee who, believe it or not , is my littlest niece.  We are almost the same age... and I know we are going to be great  friends. Right now, she is almost 9 months old, and I am almost 5 months old.  This is really the first time that we have "met". Ariel is able to  sit up already by herself, and I am still needing some help

Miss Paytin, who is almost 3 years old, is a great helper with  "us smaller girls" and was helping both of us to sit still for our first photo together.  It also took a little bit of help from my mommy and big sis as the three of us were all a little bit wiggly.

Don't we all look so cute together!  I know  that as we get a little bit older, we are all going to have A LOT of fun together, and Grammy is already planning some fancy tent days.... although I am not sure what a tent is yet, I know it will be fun
Miss Paytin was really excited to get out and go swing and have a good time

Ariel and I pretty much hung out on the blankets, but before you know it, we will be out swinging too. I can hardly wait.

This just goes to show that swinging is fun at all ages, and the park even seemed to have a swing Grammys size. What fun

Here is Miss Paytin with her Gramdma who is helping her learn to swing, and by the time Ariel and I are ready to swing, Paytin will be old enough to help us learn to swing too

Meanwhile Ariel and I are back on the blanket having some fun with some of our new Easter toys

It was a pretty long day out at the park, and Ariel and I got pretty "tuckered out".  I just know we are going to have lots of fun times together
